SEO: Getting results for my clients
 Time for a little education: SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. The process involves optimizing a web site so that when a user searches for one or more keywords that you're trying to promote, it appears high in the list of results.
This chart is part of an SEO report I recently generated for one of my clients. It compares their Yahoo rankings on May 3, 2006 vs. February 21, 2006 on half-a-dozen or so targeted keywords. The blue bars represent old rankings, the green bars represent our current rankings. The progress we've made is very encouraging.
Unfortunately, some people believe that their site has been optimized for search if a user types in the name of their company and their web site shows up first. While this is certainly helpful to people who are already familiar with you, it does absolutely nothing to help new customers find you. more ยป
